Free Music Every Wednesday the Kids Will Love
Wednesdays are the day for free concerts in Saint Louis this summer! The Piper Palm House in Tower Grove Park is hosting their Children’s Concert Series every Wednesday morning at 9:30am. If you’re not a morning person, head across the street to the Missouri Botanical Garden for the Whitaker Music Festival. Music starts at 7:30pm and the last entry is at 9pm.
The Children’s concert series is a great way to expose your children to numerous different musical styles. The interactive concerts are educational and feature a different theme each week. Best of all, the concerts are free! The remaining schedule is listed below:
June 24: Flashing Brass
July 1: Peter and the Wolf
July 8: Stringing Along
July 15: Is It Baroque?
July 22: The Bremen Town Musicians
July 29: Elephant and Friends
Aug. 5: The Tortoise andthe Hare
Aug. 12: Percussion Discussion
Meanwhile, later in the evening, the Whitaker Music Festival in the Botanical Garden is for more of a mature audience but still extremely kid friendly. You can bring your own picnic basket and cooler into the garden or you can purchase food, alcohol and even sno-cones on site. Camp out in the shade and enjoy the music while your little ones run around and dance to the music to burn off some energy before bed time. Again, the best part about the Whitaker Music Festival is that it is 100% free! Here is the remaining schedule.
June 24: Jeremiah Johnson Band
July 1: Saint Louis Social Club
July 8: Erin Bode Group
July 15 : Loot Rock Gang
July 22 : Magnolia Summer
July 29: Tommy Halloran’s Guerrilla Swing
If you’re going to enjoy both concert series in the same day and are looking for a kid friendly restaurant to kill time in between, be sure to use the Eat Kid Friendly App to track down the best restaurant for you and your little ones. After you eat there be sure to leave feedback on your experience on the Eat Kid Friendly App to help other parents!
